What does this Bible passage mean? "All who dwell on the earth will worship him [the Antichrist] whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." The statement opens up more questions than it answers. True, the context is that of warning Christians of the coming of the Antichrist, but in the process of warning them, it mentions a "Book of Life" (mysterious enough in itself), and THEN also makes what seems to be a cryptic statement about Jesus being slain from the world's foundation. Does it mean He was slain AT its foundation? That can't be right, He was killed in AD 33. Does it mean He was PROPHESIED at the beginning of the world that He'd been slain in AD 33. That can't be right, there was no one there to make the prophesy: no one had been created yet. What it MEANS relates to this "Book of Life" and how and WHEN peoples' name are inscribed in it. Tonight we discuss this. Your host: Rev. Rick Anderson, on "Jewish Roots", each Thursday at 9:30 PM, EST.
